Ray Bid writes to alert us to the online diary of a backpacker, Marlowe Bidforth, who is trapped in Borneo and at this point must be assumed to be dead. I also assume that the site is a spoof.
Why aren’t we seeing more fictitious weblogs? I don’t mean RageBoy‘s postings about being a babe magnet, but a genuine form of narrative fiction: daily postings from a fictitious character.

TinyApps.org is a good-hearted and useful site that makes small applications available, mainly for free. The site’s asking for small donations. It’d be a shame to lose this site.

Mitch rants about file sharing in reaction to the court decision that Verizon has to give up the name of a user who uploaded music.
Yesterday, TheInquirer discovered the source of the “AstroTurfed” letters to editors endorsing W’s great leadership. But what’s so wrong with a site that encourages people to write letters and suggests verbiage? It happens on all sides of the spectrum.
Today, however, TheInquirer finds it’s actually more cynical than it at first seems. Letter-writers earn 5 GOPoints for each letter, with a maximum of 20 per day. The points can be redeemed for 12-pack insulated bags, a leather portfolio and other Fabulous Prizes.
In case there’s any doubt, the site acknowledges that it’s “a Web site of the Republican National Committee.”
