Christopher Allen Sebastien Paquet in Orkut Jail
Posted on:: February 1st, 2004
Christopher Allen Sebastien writes about how he got locked out of Orkut, possibly by alerting people to what he thought was a security hole (which turned out to be a UI defect). He shared a cell with Marc Canter.
On the must-read list about Orkut: Danah Boyd’s rational rant.

Rational? It’s an emotional pushback. What’s rational about this?
Hmmm — is it based on the person making the comments, or the tone?
Hmm? The blog entry you refer to my (lifewithalacrity) and I’m not Sebastien ;-)
D’oh! Fixed it.
Jeez, have I ever gotten even a single fact right? Sorry!
Shelley, I think of pure rants as exaggerating defects for the sheer joy of yowling. (Don’t get me wrong: I like a good yowl as much as the next person.) I was trying to say that Danah’s rant is full of good ideas — not just “Ouch!” but “Here’s why it hurts.”
I respect that David; I was just surprised when I was ‘rational’ used as an adjective. However, will continue this in a weblog post in own space.
BTW, what is that security code check thing?
Urh, should be “…when I was ‘rational’ used as an adjective to describe Danah’s post”.

Milestone: I believe it’s the first time that my name has appeared on Joho the Blog. So I guess I should thank you for that misstatement!
