Blind to Color Blind

When I was designing my blog, I made the aesthetic decision to remove the underlines from the links because underlines are such horrid little things. Instead, I made my links red, which I thought made them distinctive without making them like they were words I particularly wanted to emphasize.

Ralph Brandi wrote to me yesterday. Ralph is color blind. My links don’t look like links to him. Nor to anyone else with reg-green color blindness. So, the underlines are back in. For example, when I tell you that Ralph’s blog is here, you’ll see “here” underlined.

This being the day before Yom Kippur, the day of atonement, I hope Ralph and his color-blind sisters and brothers will forgive me.

  1. Dear Non Color Blind Friends.

I have the distinction of being an eight year veteran of the US Coast Guard and a 36 year stint with one of the largest Steel Fabricater’s in the eastern United States. You guessed it, I was the Coatings Supervisor. Color Blind and inovative. Being Color Blind is not a handicap unless you let it be a handicap.
I will never forget the day I purchased a Bow and Wrapping Paper at a local Hallmark Store. I asked the young lady to assist me with the proper paper and bow and I explained that I was Color Blind. Yep, she asked me how I drove a car if I was Color Blind ? My awswer was this: I open the door and put the key in and drive off.
I’ve been all over the United States, Bermuda etc.
The red light is allways on the top and the green is on the bottom. Don’t feel sorry for me being Color Blind, I made a million dollars and retired at 57.
