Belkin Customer Support Rocks
Posted on:: July 1st, 2002
For the second time, my Belkin Nostromo 500 Speedpad, an essential add-on if you play computer games, broke. For the second time, a simple email to their support folks resulted in them sending out a new one. These folks are great to do business with.

it might seem that way, but difficult to compare that with a product that doesn’t break two times and doesn’t need to be replaced two times, and that the manufacturer sees as such a turd that it’s not worth fixing if it breaks. Belkin McComponent? No thanks.
Ok, let’s not call it a turd. Let’s let it speak for itself that they don’t even want to try to fix it. Most companies want to fix it, and one can buy their products refurbished, and it’s a good deal. Belkin doesn’t even seem to be a good deal when new. In fact, I just turned down an 802.11g router at the price of free! I knew the offer would lead to incessant spamming of the email address. I could have gotten another free one, and never used it again to have the router for free, but I’d rather spend some money and get a reliable machine than trade money for aggravation and disappointment.
