Welcome to the public draft of a new book by David Weinberger

I'm writing this book in public so that you can comment on it and improve it.

I'll post drafts as I write 'em and alter 'em. (They're in Microsoft Word 2000, by the way). Please understand that some of what you'll read will suck. That's why it's just a draft.

Please post your comments.

Thanks!

The Rules

These are actual drafts. That means they're going to change...maybe substantially.

These are posted for you to read and comment on. Because they're just drafts, you do not have permission to quote from them, not even for what otherwise might be considered "fair use." I don't want these half-baked ideas to circulate; tomorrow I may wake up and not agree with myself.

I own the copyright on all the drafts I post. Your contributions via the discussion board is public. I may well take your advice without attributing it directly to you (because I don't want to fill the book with comments such as "Thought begets action" {Footnote: Kathy Smith suggested this phrase which originally read "Thought begets motion."}). If you truly contribute substantial ideas, I will credit you in the book, but this has to be at my discretion; in essence, your posted comments are a conversation with an author, and if you advance my thinking or improve my expression, you may not get the credit you think you deserve. Sorry.

Thank you for your help!
